The advisory method

Influence OS — An AG Consultancies advisory system

Influence is adoption,
not attention.

Influence OS is Ali Ghaith’s method for tracing an idea from first exposure to use in a decision, policy, practice, or relationship. It also sets the evidence needed at each step.

THE THESIS
Attention is visible in the room. Influence appears in what happens afterwards.

An idea can be heard and admired without changing anything. To count as influence, it must be understood accurately, carried through relevant relationships, and used in a decision or practice. Each step should leave evidence.

Public framework

Four stages, from diagnosis to evidence of use.

01

Diagnose

Test assumptions, claims, evidence, and points of failure before prescribing an intervention.

02

Architect

Connect the message, proof, stakeholder system, and pathway through which a decision may move.

03

Equip

Build the tools, rules, language, and alignment mechanisms teams can actually use.

04

Review

Examine what people used, what changed in practice, and what the evidence allows the organization to claim.

The distinction

The method begins with the decision, not the product.

Conventional approachInfluence OS approach
Begins with an activity or communication productBegins with the decision or adoption sought
Prioritizes reach and engagementLooks for evidence of use, adoption, and consequential response
Creates the message, then searches for evidenceTests the claim and evidence before fixing the message
Treats stakeholders primarily as audiencesTreats stakeholders as actors inside a decision pathway
Delivers outputsBuilds tools and decision rules the organization can continue using

Validation boundary

What can be claimed about the method today

Ali developed Influence OS from his professional practice. AGC is now applying it across advisory engagements, recording where it helps and where it needs revision. The method has not been independently tested, and AGC does not describe it as scientifically proven or universally applicable.

Apply the method

Start with a live Proof Gap.

Bring a claim, decision, programme, or partner problem that is live now. The method is useful only insofar as it helps the team see the problem more clearly and act on it.
